High grade iron ore deposit discovered in Liaoning

A new iron ore deposit has recently been discovered in Liaoyang in China's Liaoning Province with total proven reserves of 120 million mt, according to the Department of Land and Resources of Liaoning Province.

The deposit is located at Mount GongChang, Liaoyang. Its proven reserves of high grade ore amount to over 74 million mt. The overall iron ore reserves have an average grade of 63 percent iron, reaching as high as 68 percent. This is the largest high grade iron ore deposit discovered in the province in the past forty years and is also the largest high grade iron ore deposit in China after the Shilu iron ore mine in Hainan.
