High Court certifies JISCO, JVSL merger

The Karnataka High Court reportedly gave the green light for the merger of Indian steel producers Jindal Iron and Steel Corp (JISCO) and Jindal Vijaynagar Steel Ltd (JVSL). The court's approval on January 20, 2005, brought a one-year protracted merger process to a conclusion. The deal sees the joining of both companies, with the new firm retaining the name JISCO. Moreover, the merged company will be a fully integrated steel plant with products ranging from iron ore pellets to color coated sheets.
