Henan Province eliminates 23.88 million mt of coal capacity in 2016

On February 27, the Development and Reform Commission of China’s Henan Province stated that it shut down 100 coal mines and eliminated 23.88 million mt of coal capacity in 2016.

Li Zhenghuan, deputy director of the commission, added that in 2016 Henan Province produced 108.4664 million mt of raw coal, down 15.3 percent, while coal sales totaled 113.4357 million mt, decreasing by 14.5 percent, both year on year.
