Hebei to restrict approval of coke and calcium carbide projects

The government of China's Hebei Province has announced that it is suspending the approval of metallurgical coke and calcium carbide projects which are aimed only at expanding capacity. This measure is in response to a notice on regulation of the development of the domestic coal chemical industry issued by China's National Development and Reform Commission.
