Hebei Jinxi opens 1 million mt H-beam line

SteelOrbis Shanghai Several days ago, Hebei Jinxi Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. started formal production on its new H-beam line which has an annual production capacity of one million metric tons. The total investment for this project was RMB 2.4 billion ($304 million). The major process and equipment have been imported from Germany and Austria. Phase I of the project began in 2003 and ended in August of the same year. Trial production in May 2006 concluded with monthly production of 80,000 metric tons. Sources report that, in the next five to ten years, Hebei Jinxi Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. will further strengthen its product structure and accelerate upgrading in order to raise steel production to 5-10 million metric tons.
