Hebei Province-based Handan Steel has officially commenced the reconstruction project to convert its No. 2 color coated line into an electro-galvanized (EG) line. The project, on which work is expected to continue for 10 months, is being carried out at an investment cost of RMB 6.05 million ($8.64 million).
Following the rebuilding, the new EG line will produce 120,000 mt of EG sheet yearly, mainly including fingerprint resistant sheet, phosphating sheet and non-treatment sheet. These products are mainly used in high-end applications such as computers, LCD or PDP televisions, and refrigerators.
