Handan Iron and Steel’s No. 3 converter starts production

China Metallurgical Group Corporation has announced that the 250-mt No. 3 converter which it has built for Chinese steelmaker Handan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd has successfully produced liquid steel. The No. 3 converter has been built close to Handan Steel's No. 1 and No. 2 converters which have already started production.

On October 17, 2008, the construction of Handan Steel's No. 1 converter with 250-mt capacity at the steelmaker's new facilities in Handan was completed. Subsequently, on April 21, 2009, Handan Steel's No. 2 blast furnace at the new facilities started production.
