Great Britain’s construction output down 4.1 percent in August

Construction industry output in Great Britain in August this year rose by 0.4 percent compared to July and was down 4.1 percent compared to the same month last year, according to a report released by the UK-based Office for National Statistics (ONS). In particular, new house building in particular fell by 5.4 percent, and repair and maintenance work fell by 1.4 percent, both year on year.

In August, the total value of construction output in Great Britain was £10.38 million ($16.33 million), with an increase of 0.6 percent compared to the previous month this year and down 1.6 percent on year-on-year basis.
