Germany’s industrial output down 1.6 percent in February from January

In February this year, seasonally-adjusted industrial production decreased by 1.6 percent in Germany compared to the previous month, while the corrected figure for January showed an increase of 0.1 percent compared to December last year, according to the provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).

As compared to January, in February this year production excluding energy and construction decreased by two percent, while the production of capital goods fell by 3.1 percent and output of consumer goods narrowed 1.5 percent. Meanwhile, the production of intermediate goods decreased by 0.7 percent, while energy production was up by four percent and construction output saw a fall of 2.2 percent, all month on month.
