German current account surplus down in December

Germany's Federal Statistical Office announced that the country's current account surplus decreased to €5.9 billion in December from a surplus of €9.1 billion in November. The trade surplus totaled €10.7 billion in December compared to €12 billion in November. German exports rose 8.8% year-on-year in December to €59.5 billion while imports rose 10.6% to €48.8 billion.
