Georgia’s scrap exports to Turkey fall 10.6 percent in Jan-Sept

In the first nine months of this year, Georgia's ferrous scrap exports to Turkey, the country's main trading partner, amounted to 211,161 metric tons, decreasing by 10.6 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

The revenue generated by these exports came to $77.9 million, up 18.9 percent from the year-ago figure, indicating that the country's average export price for ferrous scrap to Turkey in the period in question was $369/mt, up from $277/mt in the corresponding period of 2010.

Meanwhile, in the given period Georgia's ferroalloy exports to Turkey regressed by 21.9 percent as compared to the January-September period of 2010, reaching 19,813 metric tons.
