Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Fushun Iron and Steel Corporation Ltd has announced that it has successfully produced a new steel grade, 316LN steel, suitable for application in nuclear power plants.

The 316LN steel has ultra-low carbon and high nitrogen content. Ferromolybdenum and scrap are used as raw materials instead of pure molybdenum, and this helps the company to reduce production costs.
