French producers’ basic metal prices down 1.3% in Feb from Jan

According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), in February this year producer prices in French industry rose for the second consecutive month by 0.4 percent compared to January, following a month-on-month increase of 0.7 percent recorded in January. As in January, the advance in February was mainly due to energy prices.

In France, producer prices for manufactured products rose by 0.3 percent in February compared to January and were up 0.9 percent compared to the same month of 2012. Basic metal prices fell by 1.3 percent in February month on month.

In February, prices for imported manufactured products rose by 0.3 percent month on month, while a month-on-month increase of 0.1 percent was recorded for transport equipment. On year-on-year basis, in the given month imported manufactured product prices fell 0.1 percent, while transport equipment import prices saw a 1.6 percent increase.
