Freight volumes at large ports in China up 2.6 percent in January-September

In the January-September period of this year, freight volumes handled at large ports in China totaled 9.95058 billion mt, up 2.6 percent year on year, according to the latest data issued by China’s Ministry of Transportation (MOT). In particular, in the January-September period the foreign trade freight volume handled at large ports in China totaled 3.12698 billion mt, rising by 2.3 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in the given period containers handled at large ports in China amounted to 185.9764 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), increasing by 4.9 percent year on year.
