Freight volumes on China’s waterways up 1.1 percent in January-July

In the January-July period this year, the overall freight volume transported on China’s waterways (rivers, lakes, seas) amounted to 3.5023 billion mt, increasing by 1.1 percent year on year, while the freight traffic volume on the country’s waterways totaled 5.23 trillion mt-km, rising by 0.4 percent year on year, according to the latest data issued by China’s Ministry of Transportation (MOT).
