Freight volumes on China’s state-owned railways up 7.5% in January-June

Chinese state-owned railway company China Railway Corporation (CRC) has announced that in January-June this year the overall freight volume transported on China’s state-owned railways amounted to 1.549 billion mt, rising by 7.5 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the first half of the year, coal shipment via railways amounted to 822 million mt, up 11.4 percent year on year.

Moreover, recently, China’s State Council announced that the overall investment on railways will reach RMB 800.0 billion ($117.1 billion), more than the original plan of RMB 732.0 billion announced at the beginning of the year.
