France's manufacturing output in June this year decreased by 0.7 percent month on month, after a 0.6 percent month-on-month increase in May, and rose by 0.8 percent year on year, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the second quarter, France’s manufacturing output indicated a decrease of 0.5 percent compared to the previous quarter.
In June, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, decreased by one percent compared to May, after a month-on-month decrease of 0.2 percent in May. In the April-June period, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment decreased by 1.1 percent compared to the first quarter.
On the other hand, in June production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry saw a decrease of 0.2 percent on month-on-month basis after a 0.6 percent month-on-month decrease recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry decreased by 2.5 percent month on month in June, after an increase of 0.9 percent in May from April. In the second quarter, outputs of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry and of the domestic construction industry decreased by 0.1 percent and 1.3 percent respectively quarter on quarter.
