France's steel product import value up 4.2 percent in January-May

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the January-May period of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €4.19 billion, increasing by 4.2 percent year on year.

During the period in question, France imported €804.86 million of steel pipes and tubes - up 8.1 percent, €196.87 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 19 percent, €308.56 million of cold rolled steel strip - rising by 13.4 percent, €201.19 million of cold drawn wire - growing by 21.3 percent, and €720.34 million of metal structures and parts - increasing by 6.7 percent, all compared to the January-May period of 2017.
