France's steel product import value up 24.5 percent in January-October

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the first ten months of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €7.63 billion, increasing by 24.5 percent year on year.

During the period in question, France imported €1.46 billion of steel pipes and tubes - up 12.8 percent, €543.42 million of cold rolled steel strip - rising by 27.5 percent, €318.86 million of cold drawn wire - growing  by 11 percent, €305.74 million of cold rolled steel bars – up 9.7 percent, and €1.35 billion of metal structures and parts - increasing by 8.9 percent, all compared to the January-October period of 2016.
