Formosa to build a steel plant in Taiwan

According to recent news in the market, Taiwan's Formosa Heavy Industries Corp is planning to build a steel plant in central Taiwan with an investment of NTD 130 billion (approx. $4 billion). The company filed an application to the government to build the steel plant. The planned steel plant will have an annual production capacity of 7.5 million tons at the initial stage. It is stated that the capacity of the plant may be increased to 15 million tons depending on the market demand.
