Former RG Steel COO rejoins Severstal North America

Dearborn, Michigan-based flat-rolled steelmaker Severstal North America announced Wednesday that David A. Howard has been appointed the company's new Vice President, Purchasing, effective November 28, 2011. Most recently, Howard served as Chief Commercial Officer for RG Steel, which purchased three mills from Severstal--Sparrows Point, Maryland; Wheeling, West Virginia; Warren, Ohio--in March of this year. Prior to his position of RG Steel's COO, Howard served as Vice President and General Manager of the Sparrows Point facility when it was under the direction of Severstal.

On Tuesday, Sparrows Point, Maryland-based RG Steel announced that Jerome V. (Jerry) Nelson has joined the company as its Chief Commercial Officer. Most recently, Nelson was Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Research and Development for the Stelco Corporation and served as President of Stelco USA when it was acquired by United States Steel Corporation in 2007.
