Foreign direct investment in China up 9.2 percent in February

Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in the January-February period of the current year totaled RMB 138.68 billion ($20.1 billion), down 2.3 percent year on year, with a total of 3,860 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, up 13.7 percent year on year. In February alone, foreign direct investment (FDI) in China totaled RMB 58.59 billion ($8.5 billion), up 9.2 percent year on year, with a total of 1,850 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, rising by 33.3 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC).

In particular, in the January-February period of the current year, FDI by European Union countries in China increased by 13.8 percent year on year.
