Foreign direct investment by Chinese companies up 16.5% in Jan-Sept

In the January-September period of the current year, overseas foreign direct investment (FDI) by Chinese companies totaled $87.3 billion, up 16.5 percent year on year, as announced by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on October 20.
 
In the January-September period this year, new foreign projects contracted by Chinese companies were worth a total of $137.63 billion, up 26.5 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, in the given period 3,059 foreign projects were contracted by Chinese companies in 57 countries along the One Belt, One Road area, with a value of $59.11 billion, up 24.9 percent year on year, accounting for 42.9 percent of the total value of new foreign projects contracted by Chinese companies in the January-September period this year.
