Finnish AvestaPolarit to be renamed as Outokumpu Stainless
Metals and mining group Outokumpu decided to gather all its businesses under the Outokumpu brand by the end of this year. In line with this decision, the group will rename AvestaPolarit, one of the world's leading
stainless steel producers, as Outokumpu
Stainless.
Meanwhile, it is reported that there was an explosion at the SMACC meltshop of AvestaPolarit in Sheffield on August 29. The explosion, where two workmen were injured, did not effect operations. A full investigation has started regarding the explosion.
