Ferrexpo Poltava Mine increases pellets export by 13 percent in 2009

Ferrexpo Poltava Mine, formally Ferrexpo Poltava GOK Corporation, the main iron ore subsidiary of Swiss-headquartered Ferrexpo whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, increased its exports of pellets in 2009 by 8.8 percent year on year to 8.34 million mt.

Accordingly, in 2009 Ferrexpo Poltava Mine's share of higher grade 65 percent Fe pellet deliveries in its overall exports increased by 13 percent year on year to 4.39 million mt.

In the year in question, Ferrexpo Poltava Mine maintained its share in its traditional markets, supplying a significant amount of products to Austria, Serbia and Slovakia, and also was able to consolidate its position in the developing market of China, delivering more than three million mt of pellets last year.

As regards the future, Ferrexpo Poltava Mine plans to further develop its cooperation with companies from Japan and India. The first deliveries to these regions were made in late 2009.
