Swiss-headquartered company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced its production results for the first quarter of 2010.
Accordingly, in the January-March period the company registered a 16.5 percent increase year on year in its iron ore production to 7.213 million metric tons, while its concentrate production saw a 17.8 percent rise to 2.694 million metric tons.
During the given period, Ferrexpo's pellet production (from its own raw materials) increased by 14.8 percent year on year to 2.162 million metric tons. The company also processed 177,300 mt of pellets from purchased raw materials, bringing its overall pellet output to 2.34 million mt - up 24.2 percent year on year.
