Ferreira takes over as Vale CEO

Brazil-based Vale, the world's largest iron ore mining company, announced Friday that its Board of Directors has approved the nomination of Murilo Pinto de Oliveira Ferreira to succeed Roger Agnelli as Chief Executive Officer of the company starting May 22.

Previously, Ferreiro served as Director of Vale do Rio Doce Aluminio-Aluvale, Chief Executive Officer of Vale Inco (now Vale Canada) and Executive Director of Nickel and Base Metals Sales of Vale.
