Data released Wednesday from the Port of Tacoma, Washington indicate that the port handled 1,367,092 twenty-equivalent-units (TEUs) year-to-date in November, up 3.2 percent from the same period in 2010. Exports led the gain, totaling 881,417 year-to-date, and were more than double import volumes of 432,287. Exports were up 6.1 percent while imports fell 2.6 percent last month.

Meanwhile, breakbulk tonnage was up 71 percent year-to-date in November, driven by agricultural, industrial and construction machinery exports. Auto imports were up 36 percent.
