Russia-based steelmaker Evraz has announced that the first lot of 100-meter head-hardened R65 DT-350 rails manufactured by its subsidiary EVRAZ ZSMK has been shipped to Russian Railways (RZhD).

According to Evraz, production of Russia's first 100-meter rails was achieved by the modernization project for the EVRAZ ZSMK rail and beam mill started in 2009. The project investment exceeded RUB 18 billion, and the capacity of the mill now amounts to 950,000 mt of rail products annually. In November 2013, EVRAZ ZSMK obtained the license to produce head-hardened rails.
