EU to continue collecting AD duty from Chinese seamless pipe imports

The European Commission has announced that it has decided to impose a definitive antidumping (AD) duty on imports of Chinese seamless pipes and tubes of iron or steel, of an external diameter exceeding 406.4 mm, following the expiry review initiated in October 2014.

As a result of the expiry review, the European Commission has found that there is a strong likelihood that a lapse of the antidumping measures would result in immediate recurrence of dumping from China to the EU. This determination is based on the assessment of the likely development of the volume of dumped imports, the availability of spare capacity of the exporters, the level of prices of the Chinese imports and the likely demand for further imports and the level of inventories.

The antidumping duty rates stand between 17.7 percent and 39.2 percent.

The products subject to antidumping duty currently fall within CN codes 7304 19 10, 7304 19 30, 7304 23 00, 7304 29 10, 7304 29 30, 7304 31 20, 7304 31 80, 7304 39 10, 7304 39 52, 7304 39 58, 7304 39 92, 7304 39 93, 7304 51 81, 7304 51 89, 7304 59 10, 7304 59 92 and 7304 59 93.
