Following a meeting with EU trade commissioner Phil Hogan, Turkish trade minister Ruhsar Pekcan said that all issues regarding EU quotas on Turkish steel products had been discussed. Minister Pekcan also mentioned that Turkey’s export volume for steel products with a specific quota had decreased by 25 percent in the first ten months of 2019.

Pekcan said that the Turkish side had forwarded all the necessary documents and that the review process concerning the quotas in question, which would normally be held after one year, could take place instead in the first quarter of 2020.
