New commercial vehicle registrations across the EU in November this year amounted to 171,670 units, increasing by 8.4 percent compared to the same month last year, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). Looking at new registrations in the major markets in the EU-27 region in November, Spain (-14.6 percent) is the only country recording a decline, while the UK (+19.4 percent), Germany (+13.9 percent) and France (+9.9 percent) indicated expansions.
In the January-November period of this year, a total of 1,769,994 new commercial vehicles were registered in the EU-27, or up 10.5 percent from the same period a year ago. Looking at new registrations in the major markets in the EU-27 region in the first 11 months of the year, Spain (-5.9 percent) was the only market to see a decline, while Germany (+18.9 percent), the UK (+18 percent) and France (+5.9 percent) indicated expansions.
All markets in the EU-27 posted strong growth in the new heavy commercial vehicles market in the January-November period, leading to an overall year-on-year increase of 37.5 percent. From January to November, 288,407 new trucks were registered in the EU-27, or 29.9 percent more than in the same period last year. In the meantime, new registrations of buses and coaches were down by 11.4 percent year on year in November and by one percent in the first 11 months.
