Estar to build new scrap-processing plant

The Russian Estar group of companies, which unites a number of metallurgical and pipe mills in Russia such as Amurmetall, Zlatoutovsk Plant and others, has announced that it has began the construction of a new scrap-processing plant at Shahta, the Rostov region of Russia. The new plant with a capacity of 690,000 metric tons of scrap a year is expected to begin operating in 3rd-4th quarter of 2007. The project worth Euro 16 million will be directly implemented by Estar's daughter company Lomprom.
