Essar Steel plans to increase production capacity

Indian steel producer Essar Steel reportedly plans to increase its hot rolled coil production capacity from 2.4 million tons to 3.6 million tons. For the project, Essar Steel will invest Rupees 6-7 billion ($132-154 million). The expansion project is expected to be completed within one year. Moreover, the company initiated the project to increase its sponge iron capacity with an investment of Rupees 1.5 billion ($33 million).
