According to reports recently published by international sources Erdemir is making plans to increase its HDG capacity. In response to questions from SteelOrbis, Erdemir has stated that in line with a company board request it is now conducting a feasibility study on a possible hot dip galvanized capacity expansion in view of the strong market conditions. At the Turkish producer's cold rolling line No.2, total production capacity is 1.5 million tons, 900,000 tons of which is allocated for cold rolling, with 300,000 tons destined for galvanizing. The subject of the ongoing feasibility study is the possibility of using the remaining 300,000 tons for a new galvanizing line.
