"Emirates Steel has launched its mill to produce medium, heavy and jumbo sections," Juma Nasser Al Mansouri, assistant vice president of Abu Dhabi-based Emirates Steel, told SteelOrbis at the SteelOrbis Spring 2013 Conference & 68th IREPAS Meeting being held in Doha on March 3-5. He added that the mill will produce 30,000-35,000 mt monthly in the first quarter, with an extra 10,000-15,000 mt to be added in the second quarter, while by the end of 2013 a monthly output capacity of 60,000-65,000 mt is expected to be reached.

The mill, with a designed annual output capacity of one million mt, is  the only producer of jumbo and heavy sections in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and the launch of the mill marks the completion of the expansion program at the producer's integrated complex in Musaffah.
