On June 10-11, Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Echeng Iron and Steel (Egang), a subsidiary of major domestic producer Wuhan Iron and Steel, exported 5,100 mt of wide plate to Brazil. This is the first batch of products which Egang has produced according to American standard ASTM A36.

Egang signed the contract to export 5,100 mt of ASTM A36 steel to Brazil in May. Following research and development work carried out by the producer, inspections showed that the plate quality of the new product conformed to the standard in question and satisfied the requirements of the customer.
