Belarus-based Byelorussian Steel Works (BMZ) has stated the electric arc furnace-1 at its Electric Steel Melting Shop-1 has produced its 15 millionth metric ton of steel, as the thirtieth anniversary of the foundation of BMZ approaches.

On October 9, workers produced the 15 millionth metric ton of steel at the reconstructed EAF-1 with which the history of BMZ started. The steel in question was cast at the CC Machine-1. 66, producing 140 x 140 mm square billets, for rolling into rebars with a diameter range from 10 mm to 32 mm.

In total, over 30 years 32.975 million mt of steel have been melted at the Electric Steel Melting Shop-1. The overall production of the steelmaker's two melting shops in the given period totals about 43.3 million mt.
