Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky (DMKD), a subsidiary of the Ukrainian steelmaker Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), has presented its new investment program for the period up to 2012.
In the scope of its investment program DMKD plans to switch completely to the continuous steel casting method.
Under the program, DMKD not only plans to construct a new ladle furnace, commissioning of production at which is planned for May-June 2008, but also to construct a new billet continuous caster and to reconstruct the mill's other billet continuous caster. Each caster will have an annual production capacity of 1.6 million metric tons.
