Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that it will supply three continuous casters and two rolling mills for producing construction-grade steel for Vietnam-based steel producer Hoa Phat Group’s Quang Ngai Steel Complex Phase 1 Project located at the Dung Quat Economic Zone in Quang Ngai province. Plant startup is scheduled within 26 months.

Danieli stated that the rolling mills will be characterized by a high production capacity even when producing small diameters of bars and wire rod. The three six-strand continuous casters will produce billets in a range of 130-165 mm, while the rolling mill No. 1 will produce 10-25 mm deformed bars and the rolling mill No. 2 will produce 10-40 mm deformed bars. Both rolling mills will be directly connected to the continuous casters in order to operate in hot charging mode.
