Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that it has signed a contract with Middle East-based steelmaker Taybah Group to supply a continuous casting-rolling mill for its new greenfield project in Pakistan.

The plant, which is the first phase of a two-stage investment program, will have a rated capacity of 500,000 mt/year of rebar and will start up in early 2018. The second phase of the investment includes the duplication of the mill concept to allow the overall facility to produce 1 million mt of finished products, with its start-up in 2019.
