CVRD to build pellet plant in Espirito Santo

Brazilian mining giant Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) announced plans to build an iron pellet plant in the state of Espirito Santo. The company intends to invest $370 million in this project. Moreover, CVRD plans to invest $555 million over the next two years to build its eighth pellet plant at the Tubarao complex, near Espirito Santo's capital of Vitoria. That plant will have an annual production capacity of 7 million tons. CVRD has a total annual pellet capacity of 54.5 million tons.
