CSC to construct steel furnaces

According to latest market reports, Taiwanese steelmaker China Steel Corp (CSC) is planning to construct one or two steel furnaces in Taiwan. The company will invest NTD 46 billion ($1.35 billion) for this project. The furnaces will have a production capacity of 3.6 million tons per year and will be completed by 2009 at the port of Taichung. Company officials stated that the construction will start after receiving the necessary approval from the relevant authorities.
