Anglo-Dutch steelmaker Corus announced a base price increase of £30/ton ($55/ton) for its structural section deliveries to the UK market effective as of July 30, 2006. The steelmaker said that strong demand from the building and construction industry and the rising energy and raw material costs have resulted in a price increase.
