The Iranian authorities have announced the commencement of the construction of a new steel billet mill in the northeastern Iranian province of Birijand.
The new mill will be constructed in three phases and will have an annual production capacity of 800,000 metric tons of billets. It is expected to come on stream in three years' time.
The main investor in the project is Iran-Oman Investment Co.
