Colombian iron and steel exports down 15.7 percent in January-July

In the first seven months of this year, Colombia exported 76,241 mt of ferronickel, down 6.2 percent, with a value of $222,613 million, down by 32.6 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In July this year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 10,124 mt, decreasing by 26.2 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $30 million, down 40.5 percent, both compared to July 2014.
 
In the first seven months of the current year, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 113,930 mt, down 15.7 percent, with a value of $343.37 million, declining by 22 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In July this year, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 19,198 mt, decreasing by 5.8 percent, and were worth $53.1 million, down 33.5 percent, both compared to the same month of 2014.
