Colombian crude steel production increases in March

Colombian crude steel production in March increased nearly 2 percent, year-on-year, according to data released this week by the country’s Committee of Steel Producers, CPA.
 
CPA said crude steel output in March 2017 rose to 116,855 mt, from 114,663 mt in March 2016. In a month-on-month analysis, crude steel production in March improved 7.3 percent from February.
 
As for finished steel production in March, the total of 116,214 mt reflects a relatively stable year-on-year trend from the 116,163 mt CPA reported in March 2016.
 
For the first quarter of this year, Colombian crude steel output dropped 3.9 percent year-on-year to 318,917 mt, while finished steel output dropped 3.5 percent year-on-year to 330,791 mt.
