CoAL sees decline in export coal sales for June quarter

South Africa-based coal producer Coal of Africa (CoAL) has announced that it produced 3.12 million mt of coal in total in the financial year 2011-12 ended June 30, while it produced 854,496 mt of coal in the last quarter of the financial year.
 
In the given quarter, the company's export coal sales decreased by nine percent to 411,005 mt compared to the previous quarter, while export coal sales amounted to 1.66 million mt in the whole financial year.
 
In the June quarter, run of mine production from the Vele coking and thermal coal colliery reached 126,199 mt , up from 34,908 mt in the March quarter.
