Iron ore prices in China have risen slightly during the month of June, shifting from a downtrend in May, as stated in a new report issued by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).
At the end of June this year, the China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) stood at 238.01 points, up 1.42 points or 0.6 percent compared to the end of May. In particular, the domestic production iron ore price index stood at 226.14 points, decreasing by 1.45 points or 0.64 percent month on month, while the import iron ore price index stood at 239.80 points, increasing by 1.85 points or 0.78 percent month on month.
For the whole of June, the average China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) was at 237.15 points, down 3.52 points or 1.46 percent month on month. In particular, the average domestic production iron ore price index was at 226.58 points, down by 1.21 points or 0.53 percent, while the average import iron ore price index stood at 238.75 points, decreasing by 3.86 points or 1.59 percent, both month on month.
