Iron ore prices in China decreased during the month of April, as stated in a new report issued by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).
At the end of April this year, the China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) stood at 243.10 points, down 47.62 points or 16.38 percent month on month. In particular, the domestic production iron ore price index stood at 216.99 points, down 49.64 points or 18.62 percent month on month, while the import iron ore price index stood at 248.02 points, decreasing by 47.24 points or 16 percent month on month.
For the whole of April, the average China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) was at 253.16 points, down 58.5 points or 18.77 percent month on month. In particular, the average domestic production iron ore price index was at 235.72 points, decreasing by 32.42 points or 12.09 percent, while the average import iron ore price index stood at 256.45 points, decreasing by 63.42 points or 19.83 percent, both month on month.
